Dr. Nigro has been featured in various professional magazines and throughout the media for both his surgical developments and his charity work with the Fresh Start Surgical Gifts Program. Most recently, Dr. Nigro appeared on Channel 10's Staying Healthy Report for his development of the Midface Cheeklift. He has been touted as one of the 50 People to Watch in the Year 2000 by San Diego Magazine. He was also recently featured in People Magazine in the story "Painful Silence" of Jenny Craig and her reconstructive surgery, that Dr. Nigro performed.

In addition, Dr. Nigro was named as a Point of Light by the Points of Light Foundation for his work with Fresh Start Surgical Gifts and received the Presidential Volunteer Award in 1993 which was presented by former President, Bill Clinton. He has been featured on the covers of Physician Magazine and World Magazine for his support, organization and contributions to the Fresh Start Surgical Gifts Program.
